Slavonian Grebe on the Exe Estuary at Cockwood. Looking at some of my photos it became apparent that this bird is ringed on its left leg. Further investigation has revealed that it's a bird that was taken into care by the RSPCA at Dawlish Warren and released at the same site a few days later. It's been present in the Exe Estuary ever since - and that was early 2007!
