These Bearded Tits showed really well at Westhay Moor today. The first half decent shots I've got of this species - at least for a very long time.

Despite them being present for about a month, today was the first time I'd seen the Richard's Pipits at Stolford. And showed well they did too! There were certainly two present, probably three.

Nice to spend Chritmas in Hertfordshire - this Caspian Gull at Amwell is a really rare bird for me. I've seen as many of these as I have Ivory Gulls!!!

7 December 2014 - 23 December 2014

There's been a bit of a run of good birds at the Axe estuary saltmarsh on the Somerset side at Brean. Four Twite, Lapland Bunting, Snow Bunting and Water Pipit have all been present, together with the Black Redstart still nearby in the cove.

Never satisfactorily coming close enough, this smart Long-tailed Duck at Cheddar Reservoir, was however, a bit of a stunner! It did have a long tail, not that you'd know in this photo!
