You can tell it's the mid summer birding lull when I start sticking Little Egret photos on here. This one's at the Brue Estuary. Looking at its mucky plumage suggests to me that its been hard at work feeding baby egrets.

A pretty poor weekend - this Kingfisher at Shapwick posing in the rain was more or less the only thing I photographed in two days.
