Lapland Bunting at Keyhaven. Pretty unsatisfactory really, but it seems like this is going to be my only photograph of one all winter. The White-tailed Eagle nearby was even more frustrating, but at least we did see it!

I must admit it does look a bit odd standing next to a Lidl pointing a 500mm at a bush that for 98% of the time has no bird in it. The local Wells residents that passed me were all very pleasant I must say - what a nice change. Oh yes, and the Waxwing was nice too!

In the morning a trip to Carymoor where Tree Sparrows, Brambling, Reed Bunting, etc showed very well from a nice comfy hide. On the way home I found a flock of 12 Waxwing in Berrow. Terrible light today, it's a wonder any of these images were worth posting!

Black-necked Grebe, Cheddar Reservoir. A Happy New Year to the birder walking around the reservoir who totally ignored my jolly "hello" today. Thankfully most of us aren't quite as miserable as you are.
