Not often that you can get close to Redshank at the Brue Estuary, so thought I'd better take a pic. Typically posing on the picturesque River Brue feature of a muddy shopping trolley.

Visible migration has been fairly obvious at Brean Down in the last week or so. These were all taken on Brean Down within the last week - Chiffchaff (top), House Martin (middle) and Pied Flycatcher (lower).

Having spent all weekend trying, but failing to find a Wryneck, I gave in and went to see these two birds at kingston Seymour. The top two images are of the same bird, but the lower image is of a second bird at the same place. Quite stunning birds!

6 September 2008
An eventful day with a Grey Phalarope on the sea at Berrow. Later this moulting adult Black Tern showed well at Weston-super-Mare STW whilst an Aquatic Warbler didn't.

3 September 2008
A short trip to Dawlish Warren for this Semipalmated Sandpiper, which eventually showed well after spending many hours asleep.
